Architects in the Algarve
Atelier do Lago is an architecture and interior design studio based in Almancil, in the heart of the Algarve. We design bespoke villas, hospitality projects and interiors — and follow them from the first study of the plot to the finished building.
A local studio with a long track record
The studio was founded by architects Fernando Coelho and Tatiana Gonçalves. Tatiana was born and raised in the Algarve and leads the studio in Almancil; Fernando brings a long career across many typologies — his work was distinguished with Building of the Year 2016 by ArchDaily.
Together, the team has worked on more than 120 projects and studies, from private homes to hotels, wine estates and restaurants.
One studio, every phase
We work in four clear phases: preliminary study and feasibility, licensing with the municipality, the detailed execution project, and supervision on site. Each phase builds on the previous one, so decisions are taken early and nothing important is left to chance during construction.
Because the execution project includes materials, construction details and a bill of quantities, contractors can give reliable, comparable quotes.
Designed in BIM, delivered to the client
Every discipline — architecture, structure and building services — is coordinated in a shared BIM model, developed according to the complexity of each project, up to LOD 500. Clashes are solved on screen rather than on site.
At the end of the project, the client receives the model: a precise record of the building for future maintenance and changes.
